Strong's Neck is a peninsula of land on
the north shore of
Setauket, Long Island, New York. Originally known as "Little Neck," it
was purchased from the Setalcott Indians in 1662. In the late 1700's a
Strong family member married into the Smith family. The Smith property,
which included most of Little Neck, was bought at auction by the
Strongs
and thereafter became known as Strong's Neck.
